Klaus Chalupa

FOUNDER

Since 1997, Klaus has helped transform his clients’ ideas into a built reality.

With almost three decades of construction expertise and an enduring passion for modern design, Klaus has discovered that building beautiful environments has a lot more to do with a creative vision than it does with wood, nails, concrete or glass. With an approach rooted in clear communication and personal connection, he has created long-lasting, trusting relationships with clients, architects, employees, vendors and subcontractors. Klaus believes that when a team of professionals works cohesively together, the construction process moves smoothly toward a successful outcome.

After receiving a degree in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992, Klaus honed his construction skills as a project manager, carpenter, finish carpenter and intern architect for a number of architectural firms, construction firms and a real estate development company. Through these roles Klaus gained hands-on knowledge as well as extensive experience managing construction projects from inception through completion. In 1997, he went on to found Blackline Construction (formerly Advanced Design and Development), and has continued to serve the San Francisco Bay Area with an aptitude for problem-solving and management and a strong commitment to quality and sustainability.
